Devrient, Friedrich

Actor. The son of Carl Devrient, Friedrich made his debut at the Court Theater of Detmold in 1845. He had a substantial career as an actor, and at one time appeared with his father at the Hannover Royal Theater in the same productions. Devrient never achieved the renown of his father or his uncles Emil Devrient and Eduard Devrient, nor did he work extensively in the same exalted venues as they. After his Hannover engagements, he appeared at the Hamburg City Theater, then went to Wiesbaden and from there to St. Petersburg in Russia, where he completed his career.
